| We trust in the saving lordship of Jesus Christ, as revealed in God’s authoritative word to us, the Scriptures. We long to see the churches of Queensland strengthened with biblically solid, gospel centred, spiritually humble and mission minded leaders who will grow God’s kingdom in Queensland and beyond. We pray that God will continue his good work for the sake of his glory. |

The best week away you'll ever have. Come join delegates from all over Brisbane as we gather for the annual Brisbane Leadership Training Conference.BLT 2010 - Heaven or Hell... from here to eternityWe all live on the brink of eternity. Heaven and Hell overshadows our measly existence. Jesus' life, death and resurrection ushers in a new world. How significant are our tax returns in this passing age? What size flat-screen TV would best serve God's eternal kingdom? How should we write our Bible studies as judgement draws near? Prepare to have eternity put into your heart at BLT 2010! Who will be speaking?Leigh Trevaskis was born in Bega, NSW. Before entering theological studies Leigh completed a PhD in Veterinary Science (so ask him anything about the digestive process in a cow). He then studied at SMBC and then undertook a second PhD in theology under Gordon Wenham (so ask him anything about cows in the book of Leviticus). Now at Queensland Theological College he lectures in Hebrew and Old Testament. When he's not lecturing, you can find him chasing around 4 children: Cicely, Sidney, Clancy and Lillian with his wife Elisa. His perfect afternoon would be watching the cattle judging at the show. Leigh has also dabbled in Poultry Fancying.Keith Birchley was born in Brisbane and studied to be a concert pianist at the University of Qld. In his final year, he became a Christian, which was one of a number of factors that considerably changed his career plans for the future. After teaching for a few years, Keith decided to begin theological training, and then served St Pauls Anglican Church, Carlingford in Sydney for eight years as an assistant minister. Upon returning to Brisbane, Keith was once more back at the University of Queensland, but this time as a minister to students. For fifteen years now he has been the Senior Staffworker in the AFES work there (ES) as well as more recently being the AFES Regional Director for Queensland and the Northern Territory. He is married to Marion, and they have three children: Sarah, Reuben, Karl, and Harry the dog. Photos from previous BLT events
What can I expect?
So what is BLT? What do you do??
Note: usually you do each strand in sequence, if you wish to redo a strand, please make a note of this on your registration form. Sounds too full on for me?BLT is for any Christian who simply wants to know God better and grow in their faith (so basically any Christian)!
What's the difference between BLT and BLT+?BLT is the main training event of the year for training leaders, where as BLT+ is a weekend away to challenge you with the gospel so that you can keep going til the end of the year. |
