What is BLT?

Our History

BLT was first conceived in 2004 by a few English Chinese pastors who had a passion to raise up a new generation of English Pastors for the Chinese Churches throughout Australia and beyond. BLT first began as a weekend conference in August. Its aim was and continues to be a support to the Chinese churches by encouraging their congregation members in their faith, equipping them with basic skills to be able to serve their church and to challenge people to a lifetime of faithful ministry.

In 2007, the January conference was born. For five days, Christians from different churches come together for clear and challenging Bible talks, refreshing fellowship, and strand groups that focus on Biblical theology, systematic theology, how to write Bible studies, and Christian ethics.

Our Vision

Connecting and Equipping Chinese churches for kingdom service in Brisbane and beyond.

We trust in the saving lordship of Jesus Christ, as revealed in God’s authoritative word to us, the Scriptures. We long to see the churches of Queensland strengthened with biblically solid, gospel centred, spiritually humble and mission minded leaders who will grow God’s kingdom in Queensland and beyond. We pray that God will continue His good work for the sake of His glory.

Statement of faith

BLT upholds the fundamental truths of the evangelical reformed faith, as summed up in the AFES Doctrinal statement of faith:

The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the Virgin Mary.
Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only though the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our core values

BLT ministries is a ministry that is driven by and shaped by the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

BLT Is committed to teaching the scriptures and to prayer as its core activity. While there are many programs we can utilize, BLT works on the commitment that all scripture is sufficient to equip all God’s people for the work of ministry and that all ministry is God’s work and that he and he alone is the one who gives the growth.

BLT is committed to bringing the gospel to all Queensland and beyond.

BLT is committed to the church. BLT believes that the church is both the instrument and the goal of mission. For this reason BLT seeks to support and to supplement the ministry of the local church.

BLT is committed to identifying and raising up Godly and competent leaders who will grow the church and bring the gospel to all the nations.

BLT is committed, not only to bring the gospel to the current generation but for the next four generations.
